Now the market is literally saturated with the slippery stuff. So what's the right sexual lubricant to use? How to choose your sexual lubricationThere are three main things to consider when picking a sexual lubricant
Water based sexual lubes like KY Jelly & Wet OriginalMost sexual lubricants these days are water or glycerin based (KY Jelly, Wet Original). These sexual lubricants clean up easily and have a non-greasy feel, making them a favourite with many. If they get dry during use, they can be reactivated with the addition of some saliva or water. Most won't stain your sheets or clothing if they don't contain any added colours. Unlike oil or petroleum based sexual lubricants, they are safe to use with latex condoms or gloves and rubber sex toys. Oil based sexual lubricants will react with latex and rubber sex products and cause them to break down. Water based sexual lubricants vary in consistency from light, slick liquids which are good for basic fucking to heavy, slippery gels which are better for anal sex. Silicone based sexual lubricants are the space age wonders of the sexual lubrication world as they seem to stay slippery forever. Because they're not water based they don't dry out and a little bit goes a long way. Popular brands include Eros and ID Millennium. The drawbacks are that a lot of sex toys are made of silicone and using silicone lubricants will damage them, although you can use with a condom. Also, silicone sexual lubricants can be difficult to clean up and some women find they cause vaginal irritation or infections. Anal sexual lubricants: There are several sex lubricant products on the sex toy market that are promoted for use in anal sex i.e. Anal Eaze. Some sexual lubricants are more heavy and viscous such as Adam & Eve so they'll stay put during anal activities and hold up under the additional friction. Other anal sexual lubricants contain a mild desensitising agent (for example Anal Eaze). These sex products can be helpful in overcoming discomfort and apprehension for anal initiates, but we recommend exercising caution when using them. Because they decrease sensation, they may increase the possibility of minor injuries occurring in the anal area if things get too wild. Erection maintaining sexual lubes: These sexual lubricants and sexual lotions promise to help keep you hard or increase your stamina during sex. What most of them do is delay ejaculation by numbing the penis. They contain the same desensitising agents as in the anal lubricants. Flavoured sexual lubes: Most plain sexual lubricants don't have much flavour other than mildly chemical or slightly bitter. Those that have added flavour and sweeteners may still be mildly chemical and slightly bitter. However, if you're combining oral sex with other activities a flavoured sexual lubricant may taste better than the alternative. These products usually come in fruit flavours and are often scented as well e.g. Sweet Cherry Lube. Because flavoured sexual lubricants must be edible they are either water or glycerin based. They tend to be a lighter weight and more watery so if you want flavour but need a thicker lubrication, try mixing a heavier, unflavoured sexual lube such as Wet Original with some of your favourite flavoured sexual lube (Sweet Cherry Lube). Sex toy and condom compatibility:As we mentioned earlier, some sexual lubricants should not be combined with certain materials because they can cause damage. In general, water based sexual lubricants can be used with any sex toy. Oil based sexual lubricants can cause damage to rubber sex toys, latex condoms or latex gloves so they are OK to use with silicone sex toys, polyurethane condoms. Silicone sexual lubricants can damage silicone sex toys, but are fine to use with rubber sex toys or vinyl sex toys . Top Ten Sexual Lubrication Tips
